Privacy Policy
Last updated 18 July 2026
Chappi helps people keep their pets' stories, health information and daily conversations together. This policy explains what information we use to provide the app and the choices available to you.
Who operates Chappi
Kavana Software Pty Ltd operates Chappi. You can contact us at ross@kavana.software.
Information we collect
- Account information, including your email address and identifiers supplied by Apple or Google.
- Pet profiles, including names, species, breed, birthday, personality notes and preferences.
- Pet health information you choose to add, including weight entries, health records and medication reminders.
- Pet photos, generated portraits and gallery items.
- Messages, pet memories and household membership information.
- Basic service information such as usage counts, error information and an app installation identifier.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate your account, sync your pets across devices, run household sharing, generate pet portraits, provide pet conversations, schedule reminders, protect the service and respond to support requests. Chappi does not sell personal information or use third party advertising trackers.
AI processing
When you use pet chat, the selected pet profile, relevant memories and recent messages are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. When you create a Chappi portrait, the selected pet photo and portrait instructions are sent to OpenAI. Do not add information you do not want processed for these features.
Service providers
We use Supabase for authentication, database storage, file storage and server functions. We use Apple and Google for sign in, Anthropic for pet chat and OpenAI for portrait generation. These providers process information under their own security and privacy terms and may process it outside Australia.
Household sharing
People who join the same Chappi household can access the household's pets, photos, health records and conversations. Only share an invite code with people you trust. Invite codes can be rotated from the app.
Storage and security
Chappi uses authenticated connections, row level database access rules and private server credentials. Some data is also stored on your device so the app can continue to work between syncs. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Retention and deletion
We keep account information while your account is active. You can delete your account from Chappi Settings. Deleting the last account in a household removes that household's stored photos and cloud records. If other members remain, shared household records remain available to them. Service provider backups may take a limited period to expire.
Your choices
You can edit or delete pet records in the app, leave shared information out of Chappi, revoke photo or notification access in device settings, sign out, or delete your account. Contact us to ask about access or correction.
Children
Chappi is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian should contact us if they believe a child has provided personal information without permission.
Changes
We may update this policy when Chappi changes. The latest version and its update date will remain on this page.
